Great Weekend

wow. this last weekend was really really amazing. i can't believe how many fun and wonderful people touched my life. i am going to write it down so i don't forget it anytime soon ...
*******************************

The week itself was hell. Nearly sixty hours of juggling pension numbers and coding appropriate vaulation and IRS compliance tests. Gah. Its our busy season, and I am not complaining. I actually love the challenge. But, I was definitely tired of being in the office, sitting in my cube, staring at my computer screen.

As the weekend approaches -it's 3:30pm on Friday afternoon - I am getting restive. Dragi has called and says he is taking a nap at my place while I finish up, and then we will head into the city for a very special happy hour.

The weekend is going to be packed with special events: a happy hour engagement party for friends that now live on the east coast, a birthday party for a spunky new friend Sugarbunni Invinsible, Dragi's neice's 6th birthday, and the Burnal Equinox ... halfway to Burningman beach camping trip. How can you beat that line up?

Dragi oversleeps (he needed the extra rack time) and picks me up for the drive to the city. We are going to Brian and Tiffany's engagement party and my whole "SF crowd" is going to be there, but the metering lights on the bridge has traffic backed up for ages. I am so glad that Dragi had insisted on taking surface streets until the last entrance to the bridge.

A little history is in order I think. This is the group of people who opened their arms and hearts to me when I first moved back to the Bay Area in 2000. I was an avid swing dancer then, and married, and these folks (Tim and April and Brian and Patricia and Manish and Tiffany and, And, AND) took me in and showed me the most amazing and eclectic group of folks I had ever run across. Microbiologists and doctors and computer geeks and social workers, this group had wonderful get-togethers with intelligent conversation and heartfelt warmth. Ahhh ... the pumpkin evisceration parties and swing dancing and self-made movie premiers! They saw me through my divorce and watched me, agog but supportive, as I branched out and explored my stifled sexuality. All of that mostly came to an end when Brian decided to move to Florida for a post-doctoral position. He and April were the social centers of the group, and April was too busy to keep the momentum going. We still saw each other occasionally, but never with the same energy we had before. There is something about Brian and his love for us all that really solidified us as a single entity.

After the traffic on the bridge, we made up for it by finding a stellar parking spot and walking to the Orbit Room on Market. Now, this place has the most amazing bartenders. They specialize in those complicated cocktails that take extra time and energy and ingredients to make.

The whole crowd was there, my acquaintences seeming less familiar, but my friends shone with the old happiness ... PLUS our glee that Tiff and Bri were finally tying the knot in August. April and I made some tenative plans for the playa. Tim and I had some wonderful talks and hugs and mutual admiration caucuses. Brian told me all about his realizations regarding Tiff and that he just wants to be with her, wherever that might be. He hopes they will be able to move back to the bay at some point, but I think he is resigned to the fact that it is unlikely. *sigh* Poor Brian, but he will be happy wherever he is, even if he flatters us with complaints about how hard it is to meet fun and decent people in Florida.

Happy hours with that group always break up around 9pm (though this one went a little long in honor of the fact that it had been SO long since we had seen each other), so we found ourselves headed back over the bridge with plenty of time to change for whatever madness that Sugarbunni had planned. Folks were meeting at her house at 8pm and migrating to Cafe Van Kleef at 10 or 11pm.

We knew we were going to miss the warmup, but we had a little nookie and got dressed in some of our playa craziness to cause a stir - knowing we couldn't beat out the commotion the Bunny would cause. I decided on my shredded tan pants with buttoned fur vest. It was fun to button and unbutton as the situation warranted it. The several block walk to get cigs ... definitely required all the buttons. I was pretty much the $20 hooker to many of the residents of downtown Oakland. One set of guys in a lowered car just wanted to film me for some reason. *shrug* I was definitely glad Ali walked with me!

The party progressed with speed once SBI showed with her contingent in tow. She is a small loud gal with more energy than it takes to run Las Vegas. A petite female wrestler with a shaved head (except for a small tuft she dies red), this gal jumps up on Peter, the owner of Van Kleef's and starts yelling that she is *there* and its her *birthday*. *chuckle* Unstoppable. In any case, I saw several people I knew wander in and out: Assaf, Davor & M, Ali, Patricia, and the non-tribe CVK regulars. Whee! There were spankings (mostly administered by SBI). I got one. OW! She is a stinger! Dragi gave her a birthday bite ... and she liked it and bit him back. *shakes head* When left at last call, Dragi was feeling a bit overdone, but folks inside were lining up for some SugarSpankings.

Finally, I get some sleep.

Saturday dawned bright and blue ... not that I saw dawn, mind you. After packing and shopping for the camping we would be doing that night, we headed for San Jose and the birthday party for Elenya, Dragi's neice. It was being held at The Jungle, a crazy, loud, giant jungle gym maze. Several levels of funhouse obstacles - the kids version of Flight to Mars ... but even cooler. Elenya is an amazingly beautiful child, all blue eyes and dark hair, and already learning how to use them. Its a good thing she is so basically sweet ... or there would be trouble in her future for someone! The party was loud. The place packed with children squealing with glee or crying in frustration. Madness! It was fun for an hour or so, but then we needed to get out of the noise.

We headed for Santa Cruz after looking in one more place for bulk lamp oil. Home Depot didn't have lamp oil?? OSH only had it by the quart! What the hell? I guess I was going to have to limit my firespins for the evening.

Once in the car and on the road through Los Gatos, Dragi orders me to "lose my dress". I comply and kick back the seat to enjoy the sun on my breasts while we drive over Hwy 17. Dragi checks as we pass each car, or when one passes us, to see if they have noticed my nakedness in the passenger seat. He just loves exposing me and I enjoy putting it out there. So, that works out all right! Doesn't it though!?!

Arrival at Red White & Blue beach is the same reality check as ever. The check in process takes SO LONG that you are forced to deal with your frustration and realize that you are on beach time NOW. There is no hurry ... and it will all get done in time. After a slight mixup with camping sites (it seems that we are assigned to the last open one, which turns out to be NOT open), we are forced to make some room and set up on Beca's site. We had pulled out all the stops for the trip. When car camping ... be comfortable! Dragi had borrowed the huge tent from Bill and we unloaded the air mattress, tons of blankets, candles, and even some ornamental pillows to round out the atmosphere for the pleasure dome.

The Burnal Equinox is upon us ... 6 months until we are at Burning Man again ... so we will celebrate by burning a miniature man and partying with friends and aquaintances, new and old. The atmosphere is mellow. We have music (of a sort) and chess and fire and the promise of food and goodies later. Beca, Melissa, and Michelle are there already. They are joined soon after by Melissa's brother Jeremy and Kelly and another gal. It looks like this time will be larger than last time ... which wouldn't be hard ... as only 7-10 of us showed then!

People trickle in. I finally meet Jocko, someone I had seen posting on Tribe. Rodent shows up with the "man" and Nick, someone else from Tribe. There are a few others but my capacity for people and names has reached its limit. Big Mike is there in his same old spot, providing scrap wood and techno and reggae for the main bonfire. And good thing too. The music being played at Melissa's site is dark as hell, not to my taste at all. Next time I will bring CD's.

The night progresses with some alone time for me on the beach watching the waves in the full moon, spinning of glowsticks, dancing near the bonfire, flirting with Dragi and another boy (lets call him Sauf - Sexy And Unbelievably Fun), and hanging out with Beca and Kelly. At one point we head to the ocean to dip our feet in. The water was frightfully cold but we got used to it after several minutes. Or perhaps our feet just became numb.

Dragi and I had several nice talks. It looks like we are ready to play again after my "indiscretion" with Ken. The love I have for my boyfriend just keeps growing. He really loves making me happy and doesn't mind sharing my attention. He is amazing. Really. Simply amazing. I am so grateful that he has forgiven me.

Dragi encourages me to flirt with Sauf and, since that matches my inclinations exactly, I do. I find out her is married, though, so I don't pounce like I otherwise might have. I must say I have never had so much fun NOT playing with someone. Amazing sexual tension and desire ... but no consumation of the fact. It is sweet torture not kissing him! Instead, Sauf and I talk and listen to the adjacent camp party to the wee hours while we lay near each other in the tent. There are worse places to be than with your honey on one side of you on the airmattress, with another sexy man on the other side of you ... even if he isn't on the mattress with you!

The next morning is even more brilliant that yesterday's. Sunbathing in the warm sand and drinking Chai, the three of us hang out all morning and early afternoon until it is time to pack it up. I hope very much that I will see Sauf again ...

Good Golly! Life is good.

    *pounce*

I'll let you pounce on me. ;)

You should set up a web log - www.xanga.com is really a great site for that and you don't have to host or set up software.

OHHHHHHHHH The mind candy on that thought....a pounce that may be rated better then a tigger pounce....very hard to do. I think I would need to be present to rate and judge this pounce.

well, i was loathe to bump the "what a woman" tread from the top of the list, but it must be done. you can also see what a vain and shallow woman i am at heart that it took me sooooo long to bump it.

I AM LOOKING SO FORWARD TO THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been working insane hours at work for the last month or so. Now it is time for a break. I am taking a four day weekend so I can enjoy several events and some time to myself ... without PRESSURE - time pressure, people pressure, work pressure, air pressure (Oh wait! I still need air pressure to live. Nevermind that one.)

Thursday night - April Fooligans Party

Ali is putting this together and I am helping by working the door and helping to put together a light spinning area. Some of my favorite people are going to be there, and I want to stay up and dance until I fall down in exhaustion.

    Friday - to the beach!

The Beach Burn is this weekend but one day always seems too short, so Dragi and I are going for two nights this time. Beca and Flint and Claire are coming down Friday night (maybe more, I just don't know) and I expect it to be a nice mellow evening hanging out. Saturday night is the burn. Rodent fixes up a mini-man to roast in the bonfire pit around 10ish. I expect the same crowd from last time and probably more; Melissa, Ewan, Jocko, Cadillac Chris maybe, and friends of theirs? I am planning a little nekkid fire dancing on the sand AFTER some non-nekkid warmups anyway. I am hoping Sauf is there to see it. ;)

ahhhhh. another fabulous weekend. start to finish i had a wonderful time. flint is truly a gem and enhanced the weekend in so many indescribable ways.

friday night. we stopped by our friend morley's so flint could get instructions on cat-watching over the holidays. the three of us went out for very yummy indian food on telegraph up in berkeley ... free chai with dinner. yum. the authentic stuff. we were in the mood to be naughty but the fates were slightly against us. we tried. we were hoping for company, but in the end succeeded *only* in inciting ourselves to hours of loving at my place.

saturday. started with waking up late. i love sleeping in snuggled next to him. we woke and were practically dragged out of bed by jenn who wanted to go to mama's royal cafe for brunch. it had been a long time since i had been there. the food was better than i remember. delicious. a bacon avocado and mushroom omlette. i was kinda bouncing off the walls at the start of the meal, but the calories sent me straight home for a nap! ahhhh ... what a lazy day.

saturday continued after the nap by getting ready for our night out. we had plans to go to a play-ish party hosted by simone kross at her warehouse space. the theme was tawdry xmas and i had been putting together a red outfit all week. i finally settled on my red sequined thong under red swede pants, red velvet bikini top ... all topped off with my red leather jacket. i tried some bold makeup, a red stripe across my eyes, temple to temple and wore a platinum wig and a santa hat. i hope to have a pic to post later! flint wore his black leather pants, white fuzzy coat and a red scarf. no shirt. *sigh* life is good. once we were ready we first made a detour to our neighbors xmas party ... the two bears. these guys are so cute. and they were having a party for all their bear friends. so flint and i enter an apartment full of "large, bearded, gay men" and proceeded to do a decent job of mingling and representing as the wacky neighbors. i found it extremely apropos that we were the wacky folks at a bear party. *grin*

we headed to simone's, finding her extremely well-appointed warehouse space to be quite the spot. even trying to be fashionably late, arriving at 10:30 for a 9pm start, we still wound up being a bit early ... of course ... its a personality flaw both flint and i share. but people started arriving en masse soon after we did. upstairs the bedrooms all had folks hanging out and conversing. the kitchen was up there too, with the table covered with a craps felt. there was a little gambling going on, a little drinking going on, and it seems like the party was of a bunch of comfortable friends. all were easy to talk to and we talked with many of them before heading back downstairs to her dungeon. my god, this place was seriously equipt. i guess it would have to be since she makes her living at it ... but my god ... she had a whole wall of toys - crops, floggers, paddles, canes, clips. there were cages and bars and padded flogging furniture. at the far end was a couch/bed type piece of furniture that spanned the whole wall ... with a very cool heavy but movable table in the middle of it. it sat on the bed but was stable enough for drinks and made fluid conversational grouping easy on the big surface. flint and i took turns playing with the toys. trying out the different kinds and attempting to gain some proficiency with them. very intense. *meow* i got to pet a domme's pet, with her permission of course. he was caged the whole party and later he had a blindfold and ballgag. he liked being rubbed behind his ears. people were getting spankings. other prolonged intense scenes were going on as well. *whew* we didn't get home until late, again. :D

sunday: i was supposed to do two things, go to jabir's art showing and head down for curtis' tree decorating party. in the end i didn't have the endurance for both. i did make it to jabir's show. flint drove us over on the motorcycle. jabir really does some beautiful work in ceramic, flowers in stages of opening. we got to hang out with that amazing group of folks all afternoon. flint dropped me off at the bart station so i could get home as he was going off on a date. even the bart ride home was amazing. i don't think i have ever seen so many happy people on bart. i guess it was just the holiday weekend crowd, but there was an adorable couple flirting and kissing, a mother and daughter (6yo?) laughing and hugging, two older black men having a fun conversation, and ... here is the oddest ... a guy standing up was communicationg to his girlfriend(?), who was sitting halfway down the train, by using football play handsignals. they both had shiteating grins on their faces, but it was a little surreal. i walked home very happy. :D

now, i am going to go to bed. happy birthday flint, even though you must be sleeping by now. perhaps this will get to be the first wish to you ON the day. but perhaps not ... *wink*
